"The yard is the slope through which the sky spills into the house." J.L. Borges
Located in the picturesque neighborhood of Urca, in the capital city of Córdoba, Casa M.G.J is an architectural manifestation that goes beyond conventional structures. Inspired by the poetry of Jorge Luis Borges, this home emerges as the desire of Manuel and Gabriela, who wanted more than just a house; they longed for a bright and green refuge that would adapt to their needs and tastes.
Design and Concept: The project revolves around a green heart: a central courtyard that not only connects the different spaces but also creates a tropical microcosm in the heart of the home. This concept of connection with nature permeates every detail of the design, from the side yards to the garden terraces on the upper floor.
Spatial Distribution: On the ground floor, fluidity and spaciousness define the space, integrating the living room, dining room, and kitchen. The connection to the backyard patio is essential, offering a smooth transition between the interior and exterior. Upstairs, two bedrooms are connected by a walkway that overlooks the central courtyard, providing privacy and visual connection.
Exterior Design: The facade, like a geometric artwork, presents itself solidly towards the street, protecting privacy and revealing only strategic points to allow the entry of light and air. The design of the carved concrete adds an artistic and unique touch to the structure, highlighting the expressiveness of the house.
Casa M.G.J is a contemporary and simple project, where space flows and harmoniously connects with the earth, greenery, light, and water. More than a structure, it is an experience designed for the family, reflecting the personality and lifestyle of its inhabitants.
